Bugatti Centodieci is finally into production
More than two years have gone since the unique Bugatti Centodieci edition was introduced, but the company is just now beginning production.
In 2019, Bugatti celebrated its 110th anniversary, which it chose to mark with a special Centodieci model based on the classic 90th Bugatti EB110, designed to commemorate Ettore Bugatti's 100th birthday.
The Bugatti Centodieci was therefore unveiled to the public in August 2019, but the company did not boast the building of the first prototype until 2021, after which it was thoroughly tested. However, the company states that it is finished after a year and 50,000 kilometers. The Centodies are finally being manufactured.
It's worth noting that the annual tests were anything from sweet. A particular white prototype had to deal with extensive excursions on highways, circuits, public transportation, and driving in a range of settings and circumstances over 50,000 kilometers.
Every day, the automobile traveled approximately 1,200 kilometers, with the only pauses being for driver changes, refueling, and technical inspections. Bugatti test drivers with extensive experience took part in the car's development and were able to advise on the optimal tuning of all components. From steering to acceleration and braking, and finally to the chassis.
It's impressive how much emphasis has been placed on testing, given that future owners won't be spending much time behind the wheel. The car will be constructed in a ten-piece series, with each car costing roughly 8 million USD. It is primarily intended as a collector's item.
Customers may, however, rest certain that they can enjoy Centodies in the same way that they would any other Bugatti. After all, the Centodieci achieved a top speed of 380 km/h on a 12.6 km track during its final development test in Nardo, Italy.
Let us remind you that the Centodieci is the carmaker's second specifically manufactured automobile in history, following the even more exclusive La Voiture Noire, which was produced in a single copy. The Bugatti Centodieci will be constructed in Molsheim, France, as is customary, and all 10 units should be available later this year.
