POLL: Daniel Craig thinks James Bond shouldn't be played by a woman: What do you think?

Daniel Craig, 53, told the Radio Times that he did not think James Bond should be played by a woman. The debate over the introduction and changes of the popular spy character has been going on for years, and some fans have suggested that a woman should appear in the cult role.

- Why would a woman play James Bond when there should be a role as good as James Bond, but for a woman? Craig wondered, adding that there should be better roles for actors of all races and for women.

In an interview with Variety 2020, franchise producer Barbara Broccoli also said that the role of James Bond can be of any skin color, but that it should be male.

She explained that this was because she would rather create new characters that women could play than give the role originally written for a man to a woman.

- I believe we should create new characters for women - strong female characters. I think women are far more interesting than that - she concluded.
