Premiere of the second season of the series "Great"
Nominated for an Emmy Award, the hit series "The Great" returns with a second season on November 20 on HBO GO, when all 10 episodes arrive.
"The Great" is a satirical comedy about the rise of Catherine the Great (Elle Fanning) from an outsider to the longest-serving ruler in Russian history. In the second season, Catherine finally takes the Russian throne for herself, but if she thought the overthrow of her husband was difficult, it is nothing compared to the reality of “liberating” a country that does not want to be liberated.
She will fight with her court, with her team, even with her own mother (Gillian Anderson in a guest role) in an attempt to enlighten Russia. In the meantime, she will also fight for her heart as Peter slowly transitions from a hated husband to a prisoner… An ally? Lover? Ultimately, Catherine will learn that to change the country you must allow it to change you, that there is a fine line between idealism and delusion, and that becoming great will require more than she could have imagined.
The series stars Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, Sacha Dhawan, Bayo Gbadamosi, and Belinda Bromilow. The author, screenwriter, and executive producer of the series is Tony McNamara, and the other executive producers are Marian Macgowan, Mark Winemaker, Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Brittany Kahan Ward, Doug Mankoff, Andrew Spaulding, Josh Kesselman, Ron West, and Matt Shakman.
