Robert Pattison Returns as Batman

"Batman" delighted critics last year and earned 770 million dollars at the global box office.

Robert Pattison will undoubtedly reprise his role as Batman, as Warner Bros. has revealed that Matt Reeves' The Batman Part II will be released on October 3, 2025. For the time being, more information, including a storyline outline, is being withheld.

James Gunn and Peter Safran, the studio's heads, announced this week that they will create an entirely new DC Universe, including "Superman: Legacy" (which will also be released in 2025), but Reeves' "The Batman Part II" will remain a standalone property and fall under the newly branded "DC Elseworlds" category. Gunn said that any DC film or television series set outside the regular DC universe would be called "DC Elseworlds".

Along with the upcoming "Batman" feature, the category will also include Todd Phillips' "Joker: Folie à Deux," starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga (due in theaters on October 4, 2024), the current animated series "Teen Titans Go!" and a special Superman film produced by J. J. Abrams.

In "DC Elseworlds," Pattison and Reeves will continue to explore their version of Batman, while Gunn and Safran will hunt for a new actor to play this superhero in the DC reality.

The duo has stated that a Batman and Robin picture based on The Brave and the Bold will be included in their DC world. Aside from "The Batman Part II," Reeves is planning a spinoff series focusing on Colin Farrell's character The Penguin.

Last month, Reeves stated that he was meeting with Gann to ensure that his "BatVerse" and the greater DC universe would "support each other" and that the narratives would not contradict each other.

Last year, "Batman" pleased reviewers and grossed $770 million at the global film office. The film is now available on HBO Max.

How Robert Pattinson prepared for the role of Batman

- I had about three months before the start of shooting the film, and then you constantly practice before and after work - he said on the TV show "People".

- It's funny because you read the script and spend a lot of time trying to figure out, "How do I play this character who does these daring things?" And the closer I got to filming, the more paranoid I became. It's a funny feeling when you're just sitting at home in a t-shirt, and then you put on a Batman suit - said Pattinson.
