Western “Rust” came into focus after the tragedy that happened on the set of the film in New Mexico when the lead actor Alec Baldwin accidentally killed the director of photography Halyna Hutchins (42) and wounded director Joel Souza.
Initial reports state that the shooting was unintentional, and the production of the film "Rust" states that the accident occurred due to improper use of film prop firearms.

The film is based on the story created by Souza and Baldwin, which follows the infamous outlaw Harland Rust with a bounty on his head. When his grandson Lucas is ironically sentenced to be hanged for negligent homicide, Rust travels to Kansas to free him from prison. The two have to flee together from legendary Marshal Wood Helm and bounty hunter Fenton Preacher Lang, who are after them.

Filming for "Rust" was scheduled to resume in early November, according to a statement from the New Mexico Film Office.
