"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" arrives in theaters in 2023!

When "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse" or "Spider-Man: The New World" hit theaters in 2018, it delivered something completely different. Playing with frames, different animation styles, comic book textures and more, he ditched the usual fluff and imposed his signature visuals perfectly aligned with the hero Miles Morales' origin story. It was not a surprise that Miles' new adventure literally double down on everything that made the first film so special.

The first film had one dominant animation style, while "Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse" will have as many as six. As the title suggests, an epic journey through different realities, i.e. universes, awaits us. “The two you saw in the first teaser trailer, called Earth-50101, which we're calling 'Mumbattan' is based on the look of the Indian comic book. It happens in New York in the world of Spider-Man 2099. It's based on the illustrations in Syd Mead's style, of what the future might look like. And then there's Gwen's world, which is Earth-65. It's in a watercolor style reminiscent of her comic book covers.” said producer Christopher Miller.

"The ambition of this film is to thrill you every time you enter a new environment, and also to make sure that the style of the film reflects the story, and that the visuals are driven by feelings, as opposed to some other art project. Which he is, by the way!"  producer Phil Lord tried to explain.

The directors of the film are Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson. Along with Lord and Miller, the other producers are Avi Arad, Amy Pascal and Christina Steinberg. The screenplay is written by Lord and Miller together with David Callaham.

"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" arrives in theaters on June 2, 2023, while the next sequel, "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse", is expected on March 29, 2024.
