Summer Game Fest 2022 will replace E3
Only two days ago, the official cancellation of the E3 2022 video game fair was announced, removing both face-to-face and online events from the calendar.
Thus, despite the fair's significant absence last year, which acted as a reinforcement, the Summer Game Fest 2022 intends to take center stage in the summer gaming scene this year.
Geoff Keighley himself confirmed this through the official Twitter account of this event, with a very brief announcement that leaves us with unknowns such as the date (only limited to next June) or the guests that his event would have.
And it is that, while it is evident that the large hole has been created, and given the high reputation of previous events such as The Game Awards, we have no doubt that Keighley will have little difficulty developing a program that comes up to expectations.
And, before, the Kickoff Live show, directed by this charismatic presenter, was the first platform to present one of this year's major revelations, with the initial launch trailer for Elden Ring.
With so little time remaining, it wouldn't be shocking if other companies, including some of the major publishers, choose to stage their own events.
Finally, we don't want to forget that, whether or not this exhibition takes place, the Entertainment Software Association, the body in charge of E3, has stated that it will return next year.
