The Queen is celebrating 70 years of power
It is unclear which events Queen Elizabeth II will attend or not because doctors ordered her to rest in October last year after a night at the hospital.
Buckingham Palace has unveiled a full program of events to celebrate the British Queen’s platinum jubilee, marking her 70th birthday on the throne.
The celebrations will include the opening to the public of the 95-year-old Queen's private estates. Also, some of the world's biggest stars are going to perform in front of Buckingham Palace in London.
It is unclear what events Queen Elizabeth II will attend or not because doctors ordered her to rest in October last year after a night in hospital due to unspecified preliminary tests.
It is believed that the bulk of the jubilee duties is likely to be given to the rest of the royal family, including Prince William and his wife Kate, Duchess of Cornwall.
The Queen usually spends the anniversary of her enthronement privately in Sandringham.
The official jubilee celebrations will begin on Monday when Fortnum & Mason launches a platinum pudding competition to find a dish dedicated to the Queen’s reign. The recipes will be judged by an expert jury including "Great British Bake Off" star Mary Berry.
We hope it will serve as a long-term reminder, with the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative. They will continue to plant new trees to present to her at the end of the year.
From May 12 to 15, more than 500 horses and 1,000 performers are expected in the play at Windsor Castle, which will take the audience through history from Elizabeth I to the present day.
Several ceremonies will be held later in the year, starting on Thursday, June 2, the first day of a special four-day public holiday, when the Queen’s birthday procession, known as “Trooping the Color,” will take place.
On the same day, Great Britain, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, and the British Overseas Territories will unite in the simultaneous lighting of the lighthouse next to the main one in Buckingham Palace.
On Friday, June 3, a service of thanksgiving for the Queen’s reign will be held at the Cathedral of Sts. Paul, before a platinum party at the palace on Saturday. Then, on June 4 with world-renowned performers whose names have not been released.
People across the country will sit together for a big jubilee lunch on Sunday, June 5, the last day of the connected holiday weekend.
Sandringham and Balmoral will also be open to residents and visitors to enjoy the celebrations over the long weekend.
Schoolchildren across the country are invited to make a collage of their hopes for the planet for the next 70 years, and some of their designs will be highlighted at the celebration.
From July, three exhibitions will be set up in the official royal residences to mark the Queen's accession to the throne, coronations, and anniversaries.
Recall, rare love stories last a lifetime, and even rarer are couples who have been so lucky that their love lasts for over seventy years. Britain’s Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip were married for 73 years, until his death in April this year. They got married in November back in 1947, but their love began much earlier. How much she misses her husband, whom she lost this year, is also evidenced by the fact that Elizabeth paid tribute to him in her Christmas speech with a touching detail from their honeymoon.
