Trump has sued Attorney Leticia James

Former US President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against New York Attorney General Leticia James today and demanded that the civil investigation into his business need to be stopped.

Letitia James is an American lawyer, activist, and politician. She is a member of the Democratic Party and the current Attorney General of New York, having won the 2018 election to succeed appointed Attorney General Barbara Underwood. She is the first African-American and first woman to be elected to the position.

Trump's lawsuit, filed two weeks after James asked Trump to testify in person at a hearing scheduled for January 7. That way the investigation violated his constitutional rights in an "undisguised attempt to publicly disparage him and his associates."

"Her mission is guided exclusively by political reasons and the desire to harass, intimidate and take revenge on a citizen (USA) whom it considers for political opponent," it is stated in Trump's lawsuit.

Republican Trump is asking for a permanent work ban for James, who is a member of the Democratic Party, and a final court decision that would confirm that she violated his rights.

For more than two years, James has been investigating whether Trump's companies deceived banks and tax authorities about the value of assets by misrepresenting their business in order to obtain favorable conditions for loan loans or tax breaks.

James has responded to the sue: "The Trump Organization has continually sought to delay our investigation into its business dealings.To be clear, neither Mr. Trump nor the Trump Organization gets to dictate if and where they will answer for their actions. No one is above the law,not even someone with the name Trump."

Trump's loyar is Alina Habba.She said in a statement on Monday that the lawsuit was an effort to stop Ms. James’s “bitter crusade to punish her political opponent in its tracks.”
