Viral girl's meme sold for $ 15,000

The meme is actually a screenshot from a video on YouTube in which a mother is recording her daughters while telling them that she will take them to Disneyland, and her younger daughter Chloe made a facial expression that quickly became a hit on the Internet. The video has more than 20 million views so far.

Chloe is 10 years old today, and her mother decided to make money on the popularity of meme. Memes can be sold as collector's NFT without the owners losing ownership of the original video. NFT (non-fungible token) is a collectible digital asset and represents a form of art that is usually bought and sold for cryptocurrencies.

Mother Katie Clem put 5 ETH (ethereum) as the starting price for this meme, and the auction reached five times the amount. Eventually, the "Side-eyeing Chloe" meme was sold to a Dubai-based music production company, 3F Music. The company paid as much as 25 ETH for this meme, and if we convert it into dollars, we will get the amount of about 15 thousand dollars. Katie Clem pointed out that the money will come in handy for her daughter's education, and she also announced that she will visit Disneyland next year.
