Volkswagen has announced its first e-sedan, ID.AERO

Volkswagen ID.AERO will be the first sedan from the electric line of VW ID cars, and with it, the range of models ID.3, ID.4, and others will be expanded to a high middle segment, in line with the acceleration of the "electric offensive", which is the strategic goal of this concern.

Design sketches of the ID.AERO model, an electric sedan announced for the end of next year, was released this week, for the first time on the Chinese market.

At first glance, this is an attractive design of a futuristic family car, elegant and aerodynamic, which should provide plenty of cabin space for all passengers.

The car will be based on their modular MEB platform, with very clean exterior lines, which ensure both an attractive look and good aerodynamic performance.

Volkswagen hopes to open a new segment with this model, luxury electric sedans that are not placed at the top of the premium offer.

A pre-production study should be presented to the public next week, when some more technical details about the vehicle itself may be published.

As already mentioned, Chinese buyers will get the opportunity to buy this model at the end of next year, while the production model for Europe and North America will only be announced then.

Production of American and European versions should begin by the end of 2023, which will take place at Volkswagen's factory in Emden.
