Thanks to his latest blockbuster "Top Gun: Maverick," Tom Cruise is officially the highest-grossing movie star, Variety reported . The actor, who is not only the star of the sequel but also the producer, according to sources earned more than $100 million.

"Top Gun: Maverick" is now Paramount's highest-grossing film ever, grossing $1.2 billion globally, and Cruise's first film to cross the $1 billion mark.

' I would never bet against Tom Cruise. Most actors aren't worth what you pay them, but Cruise and maybe Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson justify their salaries,' one film director told Variety, noting Tom's excellent ability to promote his films around the world. Next are Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, who received a fee of 30 million dollars for their new projects, writes Daily Mail.
