Who was the last person Princess Diana called?
Princess Diana passed away in August 1997.
Richard Kay is the last person Princess Diana spoke to on the phone before her death in 1997.
The royal reporter and friend of Lady Di in the upcoming documentary, titled Diana, revealed what she told him in the last conversation, writes Insider. The princess, he says, desperately wanted a fresh start.
"I talked to her that night. The police said they made the last call to me," Kay said.
“She desperately wanted a new beginning and to do something different, to explore a different kind of kingdom,” Richard added.
She wanted to see her sons
Kay says Diana “wanted to go back and see her boyfriends,” referring to the sons of Harry and William.
Diana passed away in August 1997 after a serious car accident. Dodi Fayed and the driver were killed with her. Prince Harry was 12 at the time, and William was 15.
William found out about the news of his mother's death at the family castle in Balmoral, which he spoke about recently.
"I was in Balmoral when they told me my mother had died. Still in shock, I found calm at Mass in Crathie Kirk that morning. And in the saddest days that followed, I found solace in the Scottish expanses. The result of all this is that a connection to Scotland that will run through my veins for the rest of my life, ”William explained.
