‘8 Mile’ Co-Stars Doesn’t Have Hopes For A Sequel

In recent months, Eminem has spoken up about his previous drug addiction with XXL and his 2007 overdose with Paul Rosenberg.

In his induction speech to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, he joked about his nearly deadly 2007 overdose, telling his daughter, Hailie, to "cover your ears because drugs were f*cking delicious." During that address, he also thanked over 100 of his early rap influences one by one.

And, despite the fact that Eminem paid a subtle homage to 8 Mile with a limited-edition comic book cover in November, the 2002 cult classic film is firmly in the past.

“Sometimes it’s just best to leave it at one,” Mekhi Phifer said when asked by TMZ why there hasn’t been an 8 Mile sequel. “Sometimes it’s just best to leave it alone. Once you make a classic, no reason to fool around with it.”

There has been no discussion about a possible sequel, according to Phifer. Will it ever come true? "I doubt it," he remarked. Is Phifer of the opinion that this is a mistake? “No. As I already stated, leave the classics alone and everything will be OK. Let's just accept the 8 Mile."

"Yeah, but you know, the tale that we told is the story," Phifer said when asked if it would be "more interesting" to see what happened after the events of the original.

- It may be fun, but I wouldn't be in it, and I'm sure Eminem wouldn't either.

8 Mile was inspired by Eminem's background in Detroit. Em portrayed Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith, a blue-collar worker with rap dreams, and Phifer portrayed Jimmy's best friend, Future.

Kim Basinger and the late Brittany Murphy also appeared in the film. "Lose Yourself" was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

50 Cent confirmed: Eminem's "8 Mile" is being adapted into a series

50 Cent has stated that he is developing a TV series based on the 2022 film "8 Mile," which is based on the life of Eminem.

He stated that he is working with the rapper to bring the series to television.

I will bring his "8 miles" to television. We are on the move. It's going to be big.

The rapper also claimed that the series will add "context" to the film's plot by depicting the main character's childhood.

It was also recently disclosed that 50 Cent is expanding the BMF universe by developing three spinoffs for Starz.
