Afternoon coffee? Better no!

It is rare to meet someone who drinks coffee only during the morning, as the first favorite beverage to wake up. Of course, this only applies to fans of this drink, but it must have happened to you that after work, during the day, or in the evening, you went with a loved one and ordered coffee again.

When we feel that we lack energy, we usually reach for a cup of coffee, not knowing which one is in order that day. However, experts point out that, although you feel sleepy, you should avoid caffeine during the afternoon. But that doesn't mean you have to give up your favorite drink forever.

Why should you avoid it?

That sluggish feeling is probably a consequence of a drop in blood sugar, and that other cup of coffee only acts as a deception. When you drink caffeine, you artificially raise your blood sugar and insulin levels, and then you go down again.

However, coffee itself is not a problem, it provides many phytonutrients. If you are looking to replace your favorite drink, at least in order to drink it less than you are used to, you need to equalize your energy. You will achieve this by optimizing your nutrients. Make sure that the breakfast contains more fiber and that the lunch is rich so that it will saturate you enough because that way you will maintain the balance of blood sugar levels and avoid a "sudden drop" at noon. You may want to find ways to keep your cortisol levels stable.

Many of us who feel that afternoon's decline have a cortisol crisis. Elevated cortisol levels raise blood sugar over time, which can contribute to that noon drop. Many factors can inadvertently increase cortisol levels, such as lack of sleep, increased stress, poor diet, and the like, but you can apply certain habits to keep those levels in balance. To reduce the level of stress hormones, you can drink green tea or any citrus drink. So, you can try to apply this and see your own results!
