Aiways U5 starts delivery in June

The Aiways U5, the Chinese brand's first model to enter the national market, had its marketing of this new 100 percent electric SUV delayed due to logistical issues that plagued the sector.

According to the most recent information, the Aiways U5 will be available to international consumers in June, with a starting price of $46,728.

It is crucial to note that the pricing refers to the Prime version, which provides a complete level of equipment, such as advanced driver support systems (such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping) and a leather-trimmed inside.

Because it is a new brand, the manufacturer provides an above-average warranty to give customers additional assurance, with a general warranty of 5 years or 150,000 kilometers and a battery warranty of 8 years or 150,000 kilometers (with a minimum capacity of 70 % ).

The WLPT circuit's battery capacity of 63 kWh provides for a range of 400 km. The maximum charging power in fast stations (DC) is 90 kW, which allows charging from 20 to 80 percent in 35 minutes, and 6.6 kW in alternating current (10 h for charging from 0 to 100 percent ).

The electric powertrain produces 150 kW (204 horsepower) and 310 Nm of torque, allowing an emission-free SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, for example.

According to the Chinese brand, the U6 is a prototype that will be extremely similar to the final edition. And, if that's the case, we can predict that the U6 will turn a lot of heads.

This SUV coupé's futuristic design incorporates elements such as a joystick in place of a standard steering wheel, a gear selector (the electric ones do not have a gearbox), which resembles a power lever on an airplane or a boat, and a huge screen,

(The central touchscreen is reminiscent of Tesla screens), featuring "muscled" lines and a "fastback-style roofline and glass roof". To improve aerodynamics, there are "several factors that help to lower air resistance, such as the form of the mudguard and tire arches."

There are lots of technology onboard, including a digital assistant with speech recognition to handle infotainment features. There are also slots between the back seats to store a drone and its controller.

The Aiways U6 is scheduled for release before the end of the year.
