The trial of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp has been going on for weeks. The actress accused her, now ex-husband, of domestic violence, while he vehemently denies it, emphasizing that she is the one who is violent towards him. Now, Amber Heard's sister, Whitney Henriquez, has told her side of the story.
As she explained, the first quarrel happened only a month after the wedding, when Depp hit Heard in the face, and then she returned it to him in the same way. The actress' sister lived with a famous ex-couple for a while, and she described their relationship as changeable. In the beginning, Depp was cheerful, positive, kind, and generous to everyone, but then things changed.
In the beginning, everything was great
“Honestly, we all fell in love with him at first. When he was sober, everything was wonderful. When he wasn’t sober, it was awful. If he consumed drugs or if he drank, there was almost always an argument” - said Henriquez and described the incident from March 2015 in detail.
"They said very nasty things to each other," Whitney said, adding that Johnny ran up the stairs, approached her from behind, and hit her. “I heard Amber shout ‘Don't hit my fucking sister!’ Then she hit him” - she added. She said that Depp's bodyguard then intervened, but "by then Johnny had already grabbed Amber by the hair with one hand while hitting her several times in the face with the other."
The bodyguard then separated them, Amber's sister said, and Depp started smashing various objects in the kitchen and started throwing Amber's clothes on the floor. “In the beginning, Amber was what she is - funny, witty, she laughed a lot, she was happy, cheerful, fun, full of love, and surrounded by friends. And then everything started to change. She stopped sleeping, she was no longer so loud, she was no longer so sociable” - said the sister and added that Amber lost weight suddenly, that she did not sleep for days, and she got heart disease….
Henriquez said that Depp took control of Heard's clothes, and since they had the same stylist, he controlled what she would wear at public events. Depp was also against Heard making films, especially those that contained explicit scenes, the actress' sister reveals.
A friend confirmed the bruises
Heard’s former best friend, Rocky Pennington, also testified in court via a pre-recorded video and said she saw the actress’ injuries. She was questioned about the incident from December 2015, when Heard claimed that Depp hit her in the head and punched her head several times, so hard that the frame of the bed on which she was lying broke. Heard also claimed that Depp pulled out strands of her hair. "It didn't leak down her head, but it was a wound and it was red," she said.
Asked by one of Depp's lawyers how she could confirm that Heard's hair had been pulled out, Pennington said: “I saw a bloodstain with missing hair” - she answered and added that Amber's whole face was red and that part of her nose was swollen, as well as that she had a cut on her lower lip.
"I've seen injuries on her many times," said Penning Heard. She rejected the idea that Herd or her makeup team could draw bruises on her face. "Because I saw injuries on her body immediately after they happened, and as long as they healed," she said.
Recall, the love between Amber and Johnny began in 2009, when they met on the set of the movie "The Rum Diary". They got married in February 2015, and divorced two years later.
