Billy Joel "breaks" Taylor Swift's brain

Taylor Swift has reacted to Billy Joel's words that she was "like the Beatles of that generation."

In a recent interview with USA Today, Joel was asked who his favorite "current singers" were and, after praising Adele, he referred to Swift as the Fab Four of her generation.

"She's productive and she keeps coming up with great concepts and songs, and she's huge, you have to give her a big score. She knows about music and she can write. She's like the Beatles of this generation."Billy Joel

Reacting to the comment in an interview with Extra, Swift said: "Honestly, that broke my brain because it doesn't seem like a real thing that can happen in life.

"I may have hallucinated, we may have had the same hallucination because I don't really know how to process words like that from someone like him, I'm a big fan of his."

And she added: "An icon says that. I don't know if that really happened, I need to see a video or something to prove it, because woah."

This month, Swift released 'Red (Taylor's Version)', the second album from her ongoing re-recording project after 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)', shared earlier this year.

Since its release, Swift's 10-minute version of 'All Too Well' has earned the title of the longest entry at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 to date, beating the record set by Don's McLean's 'American Pie' 50 years ago.

The singer's 2020 album 'Evermore' was also nominated for Album of the Year at this month's 2022 Grammys.

'Evermore' is joined in the Album of the Year category for next year's Grammys 'Happier Than Ever' by Billie Eilish, 'Planet Her' by Doja Cat, 'Justice' by Justin Bieber, 'Love For Sale' by Tony Bennett, and Lady Gaga and Jon Batiste's 'We Are'.
