Oud became the basis for the composition of the new Herrera Confidential fragrance, inspired by one of Carolina Herrera's travels to the Middle East. During the trip, she was inspired by the atmosphere of luxurious Arab celebrations, accompanied by the unique aroma of oud.
The designer was accompanied on her journey by perfumer Jordi Fernandez, a true connoisseur of Middle Eastern traditions who has been studying them for about 20 years. Together they discovered the world of oriental aromas-treasures, which are an integral part of oriental authenticity.
Before meeting guests, Arabs often put a small amount of perfume on the furniture, considering it a sign of respect. Arabs also like to gather with their families and enjoy hanging out in the living rooms with guests, lighting a fragrant oud. For the inhabitants of the Middle East, a special culture is associated with it, because the essential oil of the oud tree can be compared to liquid gold.
In the new fragrance True Oud Herrera Confidential, the sound of Thai oud wood in the heart is framed by myrrh resin and a fresh accord of jasmine flowers from Egypt. The base of the fragrance is a luxurious combination of sandalwood, patchouli, and musk. Top notes of osmanthus blossom, olive tree extract, saffron, and freesia give an unforgettable halo of perfume.
Herrera said it was very important for them to recreate this aroma which awakes beautiful memories for both of them. She said this perfume reminds her of the time she spent with her family, in the comfort and warmth of her home. They also took care that everything was produced in a sustainable way, so it will not fade over time.
