Christopher Nolan's New Film "Oppenheimer"

The first trailer for the new film by one of today's most important directors, Christopher Nolan, "Oppenheimer", is available to fans of his work around the world. They can use it to see what they can expect in the movie.

"Oppenheimer" depicts the life and ethically questionable confessions of physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is credited with inventing the atomic bomb. Oppenheimer was one of the main contributors to the Manhattan Project, the government's research aimed at creating nuclear weapons, which ran from 1942 to 1946.

In addition, he was the director of the laboratory at Los Alamos, where the bombs were physically assembled.

Cillian Murphy plays the main role, and he also collaborated with the director in the productions "Inception", "The Dark Knight" and "Dunkirk".

The cast also includes Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Gary Oldman, as well as Rami Malek, Benny Safdie and others.

The film is based on the 2006 Pulitzer Prize-winning biographical novel "American Prometheus: The Triumph" and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Guy Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin.

In addition to adapting the book for the screen, Nolan is also the director and producer of the film. Even before the trailer was released, the talk these days was about Nolan and his new work. Namely, considering the subject of the film, it was necessary to recreate the explosion of an atomic bomb. It would be expected that such a thing would be achieved digitally, using the so-called CGI – computer-generated frames. Nolan, however, announced that the explosion shown in the film is real. Something similar Nolan has already done on the set of his last film, Tenet, where he destroyed a Boeing 747 plane.

"Oppenheimer" is Nolan's first film since 2000's "Memento" not to be released by Warner Bros., after their collaboration ended after the release of "Tenet."  "Oppenheimer" arrives in theaters on July 21, 2023.
