Claudia Schiffer is curating an exhibition we would love to visit

One of the most famous supermodels of the 90s, Claudia Schiffer (51), holds the record for posing on the greatest number of magazine covers (over 1000!). She appeared in numerous films including ‘Richie Rich’, ‘Zoolander’ and ‘Love Actually’, shot her own exercise tape, is the UNICEF’s ambassador to the UK, and now, at the age of 51, she is also becoming a curator.

Through the fashion photography exhibition ‘Captivate! Fashion Photography from the 90’s' in Kunstpalast Düsseldorf, Claudia Schiffer brings together fashion photographers, designers, editors, and supermodels whose vision and energy have shaped a decade we still remember and look back to for unsurpassed fashion references.

Among the approximately 120 exhibits showing the diversity of media - from Polaroids to billboards, will be photographs by Richard Avedon, Juergen Teller, Ellen von Unwerth, Herb Ritts, Karl Lagerfeld and many others.

"The 80s was when I fell in love with fashion, but the 90s was when I learned what fashion really was. It was an intense and amazing time that had not been seen before, when shoots lasted for days and fashion was front-page news for weeks," Schiffer said in a statement. "Myself, and the other supermodels lived and breathed it and for the first time we realized together, we had the power to make a change" she added.

This fashion insider’s exhibition celebrating an unforgettable fashion decade opens on September 15, 2021 and will be open until January 9, 2022.
