Cyprus, the island of love

Cyprus is a true idyll in the Mediterranean way. Known in the world as the island of love, where according to the legend, Aphrodite, the goddess of love, was born from sea foam. It is warmed by over three hundred sunny days a year, the oldest traces of wine-making can be found on it, and its main trump card is wild nature painted in a thousand shades of blue.

As soon as you arrive in Cyprus, be sure to choose one of these two cities for your base. Limassol or Larnaca are ideal tourist destinations from which tourists usually set out to get to know and explore this beautiful island. Wherever you are on the island you will be surrounded by the remains of ancient times, from Larnaca you can visit the ruins of Kition, a city of the state whose remains date back to the 13th century BC. Nearby is the Byzantine castle, but also the legendary church of St. Lazarus from the 9th century. For a break, there are numerous restaurants and cafes serving the best seafood specialties.

You can also see a lot of cultural and historical treasures in Limassol. To the east are the ruins of Amatus, one of the 10 original island royal cities, and to the west stands the proud city of Curion with an ancient amphitheater rising above the sea. It should not be mentioned that there are countless small restaurants in the place that tourists often visit.

Of the other major cities, Paphos should be singled out. Aphrodite was born on the shores of this city, and there is the famous Aphrodite's Rock. You can walk to the fantastic beaches, as well as enjoy the family resorts. They provide a holiday for the whole family and are quite a popular tourist place. Paphos is divided into two parts, the lower and the upper city. In the upper part, history lives, and in the lower part, entertainment and a modern way of life, so this diversity makes Paphos incredibly suitable for tourist vacations.
