Did you watch "Bottle Shock" movie?

"Bottle Shock", an award-winning (Seattle International Film Festival) American comedy-drama from 2008 directed by Randall Miller, is a charming and unexpected educational film journey driven by the love of a good bottle, the inimitable Alan Rickman and the irresistible Chris Pine.

At the center of "Bottle Shock"- otherwise based on a real event, the famous wine competition from 1976 also known as the Judgment of Paris is a British sommelier and wine merchant Steven Spurrier (Alan Rickman) who decided to seek his fortune in France and this is precisely in the city that is usually referred to as the City of Love, i.e. Paris.

However, things aren't exactly going well for Steven when it comes to business, and just when it seems things will continue to go downhill, during a conversation with his most loyal customer Maurice (Dennis Farina), he will come up with a phenomenal idea: a wine competition where the wines will be judged blindly!

In his desire to introduce the proverbial demanding Parisians to quality wines from other regions (specifically the USA) and in this way, of course, promote his "wine academy", Steven will have to go to those other regions. More precisely, he will head to the then-still-unknown Napa Valley where he will meet the enthusiastic Bo (Chris Pine) who - unlike the owner of the Chateau Montelena winery and his father Jim (Bill Pullman) - will readily accept Steven's challenge and thus open the way to a whole series of events that will change the wine world forever. In the end, the futures of the characters are revealed: Jim Barrett continues to make wine into his 80s, although Bo now runs the winery.

Extremely relaxing, "light" and at times genuinely hilarious this movie can, as always, be enjoyed with a glass of good wine of your choice!
