Dragons, betrayal and war: "House of the Dragon" Season 2

HBO delighted the fans of the "House of the Dragon" series with the long-awaited trailer for the new season! The "Game of Thrones" prequel delighted viewers last year, and the scriptwriters and producers of the second season promise even more dragon wars, as Rhaenyra Targaryen ( Emma D'Arcy ) and Alicent Hightower ( Olivia Cooke ) will clash directly, that is, dragon against dragon.

There is also Daemon Targaryen ( Matt Smith ), whom we see in his impressive armor, then knights on horses, soldiers who are burned alive, and several main characters who go to battle with their dragons. It is, of course, an adaptation of the book Fire & Blood by George RR Martin, and the action of the series is set about 200 years before the events of the original "Game of Thrones" series and about 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen, at the very top of the Targaryen dynasty. And while the first season had a few big-time jumps, this season shouldn't have any. Martin is one of the creators of "House of the Dragon" and its executive producer, as well as Ryan Condal, who is also the showrunner of the series.

Most of the cast from the first season returns in the second one. So in addition to D' Arcy, Cooke and Smith, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, we will also see Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham. Important new faces in the new season include Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne. Previously known new actors are Abubakar Salim (Alyn of Hull), Gayle Rankin (Alys Rivers), Freddie Fox (Sir Gwayne Hightower) and Simon Russell Beale (Sir Simon Strong).

We expect the second season of "House of the Dragon" on HBO and streaming Max at the beginning of the summer of 2024 .
