Timothy Olyphant in the new series "Alien"
In this series by Noah Hawley, Olyphant will play a synthetic being, a mentor to a meta-human hybrid.
Timothy Olyphant and Noah Hawley will join forces again in the latest "Alien" prequel series. Olyphant is set to play Kirsh, a synthetic being, in the upcoming series. He will mentor Wendy ( Sydney Chandler ), a meta-human hybrid who has the body of an adult but the brain of a child. The series also stars Alex Lawther as CJ, Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier, Essie Davis as Dame Silvia, Adarsh Gourav as Slightly and Kit Young as Tootles.
FX is keeping the details of the plot under wraps for now, all we know is that it will take place 70 years in the future, before the action of the Alien movies, and we also know that the action will take place on Earth, which is not usual for the Alien franchise.
For now, Hawley is the director of the new series and he is working on the script. He collaborated with Olyphant on the fourth season of the "Fargo" series.

The upcoming FX show is set in the near future on Earth, and FX CEO John Landgraf discovered some details about what we can expect.
“It's the first story in the Alien franchise that takes place on Earth,” he said. “It takes place on our planet, near the end of this century we're currently in – 70-odd years from now. I hope they will feel like it's faithful to the franchise they love but also a brave and original reinvention of that franchise... Setting it on Earth is really interesting. We have to think forward about the future of the planet in terms of the environment, governance, and technology and create and design a version of the planet in the future... Noah wants to do that in a distinctive and original way.”
The new Alien series should resume filming in early 2024, and the release is not expected before 2025. The exact date is not revealed yet.
