Few are more profitable than her - Zoe Saldana

Saldana's new film is the long-awaited sequel to Avatar. "Avatar: The Way of Water" is James Cameron's hit film that reprises Saldana as Neytiri alongside Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, and this time their characters have a whole new set of challenges to contend with.

The first Avatar, released in 2009, is still the highest-grossing film the world has ever seen, earning a whopping $2.9 billion during its theatrical run. But this is not the only mega-franchise in which Saldana is involved.

She is also a major star in the Marvel movies, where she portrays the role of the deadly Gamora in the Guardians of the Galaxy series. As a result, the actress was also featured in two other films that make the top ten highest-grossing films.

This includes "Avengers: Endgame," which sits comfortably in second place with $2.7 billion, and in fifth place is "Avengers: Infinity War," which earned a whopping $2 billion.

Feels "stuck" in franchises

Along with working in big-budget franchises, Saldana somehow finds time to be involved in other projects such as the Netflix series "From Scratch" and the Ryan Reynolds "The Adam Project." Although working on blockbusters has contributed to her net worth of $35 million, she recently opened up about feeling a bit "stuck" in this world.

"I feel like the last 10 years of my life I've just been stuck. I've felt stuck doing these franchises. I'm so grateful for the opportunities I've been given, from working with amazing directors to meeting cast members I consider friends and playing roles that fans, especially children, love," she said.

"But it also meant that I felt artistically stuck in my inability to grow and challenge myself by playing in different genres and different roles," the actress added.
