Soon: "Orphan Black: Echoes" series

Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones, Breaking Bad) has joined the cast of AMC's highly anticipated sci-fi series "Orphan Black: Echoes". Ritter will portray Lucy, a woman with an unimaginable origin story who is trying to find her place in the world. AMC Networks also announced that Ritter will also serve as one of the series' executive producers.

The "Orphan Black: Echoes" series is set in the near future and delves deep into the exploration of scientific manipulation of human existence. It follows a group of women as they slip into each other's lives and embark on a journey, unraveling the mystery of their identities and uncovering a story of love and betrayal.

The upcoming series was announced back in 2019 when it was announced only that it was a new story and that the producers were looking for someone to 'bring it to life'. In the first season, we expect 10 episodes of the series, which is not a direct continuation, but a story set in the Orphan Black universe.

The co-creator of the original series, John Fawcett, will continue to be involved with the next chapter of the story. Anna Fishko (Pieces of Her, Fear the Walking Dead, Colony) will be the showrunner, writer and executive producer. Other executive producers include David Fortier, Ivan Schneeberg, Katie O'Connell Marsh, Nick Mantell, and Kerry Appleyard.

Through five seasons, from 2013 to 2017, the original Orphan Black followed Sarah Manning (Tatiana Maslany), a con artist who one night witnesses the suicide of an unknown girl. The only problem - the girl looks identical to her, and she is not at all surprised that she is looking into her twin's eyes. This throws Sarah on a quest that will lead her to the core of a global corporation's conspiracy.

"Orphan Black: Echoes" is coming to AMC and AMC Plus in 2023.
