"The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" - behind the scenes!
A new video gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the special that just arrived on the Disney Plus platform.
The first trailer and poster for "Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special" was released in October, and now we also got some more promo material. A new video gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the special that just arrived on the Disney Plus platform. The video begins much like A Christmas Story, then there is a story about making of the special with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige saying how director James Gunn brought up the idea of it as a joke before it actually happened. And there are messages from some of the cast: Sean Gunn and Chris Pratt.
“I'll be honest, I wrote the script in a few hours, so it was just kind of flew out of me. It was very easy." Gunn told in his interview. "Everything about the recording was easy. Everything about extracting performances from people was simple, while with Vol. 3 was torture in every way.”
The special is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, while Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) is still struggling with the loss of Gamora (Zoe Saldaña). So his team/family: Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Drax (Dave Bautista), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Kraglin (Sean Gunn), Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel) — made a plan to get him out of that depressed mood and put him in an appropriate holiday mood. Specifically, their goal is to go to Earth and find him the best Christmas present ever: Kevin Bacon.
"Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special" arrived on the Disney Plus platform on November 25, while "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3", will come to theaters on May 5, 2023.
And the first reactions to the special are great. “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is very entertaining and made me laugh quite a bit. Unlike everything else from Marvel, it's not pushing the next MCU movie or series. That's exactly what the title is selling - a holiday special.
