HBO Max has released the first teaser for the upcoming 20 years special Harry Potter Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts. The long-awaited gathering of favorite wizards will premiere on January 1, 2022.
The first film from the popular franchise, 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone', arrived in cinemas in November 2001, marking its twentieth anniversary.
Although short, the teaser for 'Return to Hogwarts' contains everything fans hoped for - Platform 9 and 3/4, the Hogwarts Express train, invitations to the gala gathering, and the issue of the 'Daily Prophet' newspaper entitled' Former students return to Hogwarts'.
Also, the teaser includes a list of actors who will appear in the special, and among them is the famous trio - Daniel Radcliffe (32) as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint (33) as Ron Weasley, and Emma Watson (31) as Hermione Granger.
The gathering will be joined by big names such as Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), Helene Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange), Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) and many others.
Emma Watson also recently shared her excitement about the upcoming reunion:
“Harry Potter was my home, my family, my world, and Hermione (still is) my favorite fictional character of all time. I think a journalist once said it was irritating how many times during an interview I mentioned how lucky I was and started counting… BUT I DAMN WELL KNEW!!! And still know. I am proud not just of what we as group contributed as actors to the franchise but also as the children that became young adults that walked that path. I look at my fellow cast members now and I am just so proud of who everyone has become as people. I am proud we were kind to each other that we supported one another and that we held up something meaningful.” – Emma wrote.
Harry Potter author JK Rowling will not appear in the special. Recall, Rowling has come under fire for her controversial comments in recent years, and the last one was in July 2020, after she shared her views on the transgender community on Twitter.
