Gigabyte BRIX Extreme miniPCs get upgraded

Gigabyte has just introduced its new BRIX Extreme compact desktop computer, which is positioned as one of the most powerful options in this family, with the latest 12th generation Intel Alder Lake-P series processors and integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics.

This new mini PC is available in several models, with processor options ranging from the Core i3-1220P to the Core i5-1240P and the Core i7-1260P, all of which share common features such as two SODIMM slots for up to 64 GB of memory DDR4-3200 RAM, and a PCIe Gen 4 slot plus a 2.5-inch bay for an SSD or hard drive or two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4 x1 SSDs.

As a result, the main variation between their models will be the box sizes, with somewhat thinner and taller versions. Although there isn't much of a size difference in actuality.

The thin models have 13.7 x 13.4 x 4.8-centimeter bodies and a single M.2 2280 slot for PCIe Gen 4 x4 storage, while the taller models have an additional 5 centimeters of space.

Finally, in terms of connection, the new BRIX Extreme offers a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet connector, WiFi 6E support, Bluetooth 5.2, HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0a, Mini DisplayPort 1.4a, and Thunderbolt 4 support for up to four simultaneous displays.

However, this is not the end of the story, as we will also have a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A connectors, and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports.

Although no pricing or release dates for these small computers have been announced, we can currently find all of the details and models of the new Gigabyte BRIX Extreme on the brand's website, which will be updated in the coming days.
