Google introduced the Pixel 6a
Google Pixel 6a, the greatest option in the Pixel 6 series, has been unveiled. The phone costs $449, the same as the previous version Pixel 5a.
The Pixel 6a sports a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 1080. The display only operates at 60Hz, as opposed to 90Hz on the Pixel 6 and 120Hz on the Pixel 6 Pro.
The phone's design is comparable to the other two Pixel 6 phones, and it also features an aluminum frame. The windshield, however, has been decreased from Gorilla Glass Victus to Gorilla Glass 3, and the phone's back is now composed of plastic. The Pixel 6a is IP67 certified, whereas the other two are IP68.
The Pixel 6a is powered by the same Google Tensor SoC as the other two Pixel 6 phones, as well as the Titan M2 security chip. It also comes with 6 GB of LPDDR5 memory and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The phone's backside features a new 12.2MP f1.7 dual-pixel primary camera with optical image stabilization. The ultra-wide camera is the same 12MP f2.2 sensor seen in the Pixel 6 phones. The front-facing camera is an 8MP f2.0 unit, the same as in the smaller Pixel 6.
5G connectivity, an always-on screen, an on-screen fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, dual microphones, and HDR compatibility are among the other features. The phone includes the Android 12 operating system, as well as five years of security updates.
The Google Pixel 6a smartphone features a 4410 mAh battery. Google claims more than 24 hours of continuous use and up to 72 hours with a new extreme battery-saving method. Although the phone supports 18W USB-PD fast charging, it does not allow wireless charging.
The Pixel 6a will come in three different colors: chalk, charcoal, and sage. It will be available for purchase online on July 21, and in stores on July 28. Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States will all be able to purchase the phone.
