Halle Berry will soon be in court for making a false promise!
The Hollywood actress was sued by an MMA fighter.
According to Variety, Oscar-winner Halle Berry received a "blow" from Cat Zingano, an MMA star, after she was kicked out of the movie Bruised, in the form of a lawsuit.
Zingano reportedly missed an important UFC fight to appear in this film, the directorial debut of Halle Berry, only to be forgotten later. However, her refusal to perform in the octagon had consequences: she was kicked out of the UFC as well!
Allegedly, Halle Berry told Zingano back in 2019 that she was perfect for her film and asked her to leave her schedule “open” so she could stand in front of the cameras as soon as filming begins. Cat, therefore, refused a fight that would leave her in the race for the title in the UFC, which was sanctioned by expulsion from this organization. Instead, current UFC champion Valentina Shevchenko was hired for the film, and Halle Berry cut off all communication with Cat Zingano.
The film Bruised is the first to be directed by Halle Berry, while Michelle Rosenfarb was in charge of the screenplay. The story follows the embarrassed MMA fighter Jackie Justice, played by Halle herself and who faces a big rising star, and in addition to the dark-skinned beauty, Shamier Anderson, Adan Canto, Sheila Atim, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Valentina Shevchenkoappear in this realization.
