The headphone boom that has been going on for years is working in Heilbronn's favor, as they are more confident in this field than practically all other competitors on the market. Their most recent over-ear designs back up this claim: the open Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X and closed DT 700 Pro X were designed for studio use.

Beyerdynamic, the studio and hi-fi manufacturer, has lately received a new appearance courtesy of the multinational firm Edelman, which is providing the traditional brand with a fresh, dynamic outfit wind. Heilbronner has stood for superb, innovative audio technology for nearly 100 years in terms of substance.

The two new models are part of the new "Creator" category. Because more and more contemporary musicians prefer to develop their own music, not just because of the corona lockdowns - a reasonable move - two new sub-headings were created: While the Heilbronn DT 700 Pro X is a closed model built for "Recording & Monitoring," the Heilbronn DT 900 Pro X is an open model designed for "Mixing & Mastering."

The newcomers all share the new "Stellar.45" driver, which Beyerdynamic developed and manufactures in-house. The newly designed three-layer membrane in Heilbronn, with its high-temperature-resistant thermoplastic polymer ("PEEK"), is projected to offer longer-lasting material stability. And, thanks to the neodymium-magnet and the very light copper-alloy voice coil, a nice compromise between electrical conductivity and weight is achieved.

Because the voice coil wire can be longer than that of the DT Classics models of the same weight, greater travel is allowed, resulting in a higher distinctive sound pressure level and volume level.

Heilbronner residents rely on a strong spring steel frame structure, glass fiber reinforced plastic parts, soft velour ear pads, and a memory foam headband. It appears to be extremely good and strong for the price. There is no danger of the two collapsing on the hard floor in regular studio life or at home.

Furthermore, the components provide a highly pleasant fit - the two Pros are readily adjustable and then sit ergonomically well on the head. They are thus suited for lengthy studio and hi-fi sessions, as seen by their fairly light weight of slightly under 350 grams (without cable).
