Hollywood legend James Dean's sad love story

The greatest Hollywood seducer had everything in his life, but her. He lost his great love and never got over it. James Dean, one of the most famous Hollywood actors of all time. He was a true favorite of women and a famous seducer, but he lost the love of his life and never got over it.

James Dean was born on February 8, 1931, in the small town of Marion, Indiana.

From his earliest childhood, he was very attached to his mother Mildred Wilson and he claimed she was the only one who understood him. When he suddenly lost her to cancer when he was only nine years old, his life changed radically. His father sent him to live on a farm with his uncle and aunt, which dramatically disrupted their relationship until the actor's death.

His biographers claim that he found solace, company, but also spiritual guidance in difficult moments in the Methodist priest James Deverd. While studying law in California, he discovered his love for acting, which later made him a film legend.

A bad boy with a soft heart

And while he had the image of a naughty boy in public thanks to his roles in "Rebel Without a Cause" and "East of Paradise", James was far from that picture. He often changed his mood and transformed from a quiet and sometimes shy guy to a crazy comedian who can cheer up the whole society.

However, he was known as a cool guy who rarely laughs in public, doesn't take a cigarette out of his mouth and who breaks hearts wherever he goes with his motorcycle or sports car.

Thanks to his undeniable charisma, he managed to turn even the most ordinary pieces of clothing - blue jeans and a white T-shirt - into a fashion trend that is still being copied today. James Dean undoubtedly had something that attracted people regardless of their gender. Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor , Joan Crawford and Judy Garland couldn't resist either.. But he could not get over the loss of the love of one actress - Pier Angeli.

Italian actress Pier Angeli and James Dean didn’t date for a long time, and there are several reasons for their breakup. Her mother did not approve of the fact that Dean was not a Catholic. His lifestyle, fast cars, and way of dressing didn’t help either. Dean himself admitted to the young actress that he is not ready for marriage yet. Shortly after their breakup, the Angels got engaged to singer Vic Damone, and in 1954 they got married. The famous actor was shocked and heartbroken.

Fourteen years after their relationship ended, Pier Angeli described what the romance looked like:

‘’We would go together to the California coast and there we would secretly stay in a beach house, as far away from curious eyes as possible. We spent most of our time on the beach, sitting, having fun, just like the kids in college. We would talk about ourselves and our problems, about movies and acting, about life and life after death. We fully understood each other. We were like Romeo and Juliet.’’

James Dean spent five years in Hollywood and starred in three major films - "East of Paradise", "Rebel Without a Cause" and "Giant". He was predicted to have great fame and a successful career, but he died in a car crash, a month before the premiere of "Rebel Without a Cause".
