How Austin Butler met Sir Paul McCartney
“Those are really the moments when I have to pinch myself."
Austin Butler, the star of the movie "Elvis", now spends almost all of his time with living legends. The actor notes that he cannot believe it himself - because he only fantasized about such things until yesterday.
As "Paul McCartney 's biggest fan", as he says for himself, he had the opportunity to meet him too, and that away from the spotlight. Austin said he had to pinch himself in disbelief "that this is now his life". He gladly recounted the details of the meeting to James Corden on his show, and the host, also a big fan of Paul, listened to him with delight.
Austin reflected on the unforgettable meeting, noting how he first met Paul’s daughter, the famous designer Stella, and she invited him to her show that was held as part of "Fashion Week" in Paris. Later, he wanted to go to London, but she assured him that he shouldn't do that, so she "packed" him to travel with her and Paul.

“And here we are on the train. We are talking. Usually, you can meet the people you admire so much for barely two seconds. We were on the train together and chatted as everyone else would. It was great. At one point, Stella mentioned Elvis, so I took the opportunity to ask him how did that meeting go for him."
“I told him how few people I met had ever been in Elvis’ presence. He remembered how he knocked on his door and when he opened it, he was so beautiful, so they didn't know what to say to him and then they just looked at each other for a while... Elvis played the bass at one point, and Paul said to him: ‘You know, I play the bass too.’ Then they played together.” - said the still fascinated Butler, who portrays Presley in the new production.
“Those are really the moments when I have to pinch myself. I can't believe that this is my life now. Afterward, we hugged each other and everyone went to their own side” - he concluded.
