'I am speechless. I cried for two hours': Britney praises fans in the campaign to abolish conservatorship
I have no words for you and your persistence to release me from the conservatorship. My life is now going in that direction, the singer wrote after the verdict that prevented her father from supervising the property last week
Britney Spears thanked fans on Monday who conducted a long campaign to end her father’s years of conservatorship over her.
Spears, 39, commented on Twitter after a verdict that prevented her father Jamie Spears from controlling the pop star's assets worth $ 60 million last week and set a date in November to discuss whether the entire conservatorship arrangement would be terminated.
"I have no words for you and your persistence to free me from conservatorship. My life is now going in that direction !!!!! I cried last night for two hours because my fans are the best and I know it," the singer wrote in a message to the #FreeBritney movement.

The conservatorship of the singer was determined in 2008 after Spears suffered a mental breakdown and involves the control of a large number of her financial and personal affairs.
The #FreeBritney movement, launched on social media by a small group of fans in 2019, noisily demonstrated at the time of the court hearings in this case, described in the documentary “Framing Britney Spears,” released in February.
Spears stepped up efforts in June to end the conservatorship of her by telling the judge it was humiliating and offensive and that she wanted her life back.
