Actor on the emotional moment in which the whole hall applauded him...
During an interview on Seth Meyers' show "Late Night Show on Wednesday," the actor (54) discussed the time he burst into tears with him.
Brendan Fraser has commented about the audience appreciation he felt after receiving a six-minute standing ovation at a screening of 'The Whale' in London in October.
During an interview on Seth Meyers' show "Late Night Show on Wednesday," the actor (54) discussed the time he burst into tears with him.
"I burst into tears, that solved all the problems," said the actor.
Brendan's heartfelt performance coincided with his triumphant return to Hollywood following a long battle with depression.
In Darren Aronofsky's "The Whale," he plays Charlie, a solitary English teacher who is suffering from severe obesity and attempting to reunite with his estranged teenage daughter for one final shot at forgiveness.
The screenplay was written by Samuel D. Hunter, who also wrote the Off-Broadway play of the same name.
Seth asked Brendan why he was drawn to his latest role.
"When I read it, I was like, I could be friends with this guy. I identified with him in a lot of ways as a father, and I wanted him to reach young people to get them to be honest about who they are, and I also felt that there was a real story to be told about someone who was locked behind a door.
It was a piece that was filmed during covid and so obviously we had to be very considerate of each other in terms of our well-being," said Brendan and added that there are no real special effects in the film.
"What you see is what you get," said Brendan, reports the Daily Mail.
