Jaden Smith opened up about his eating problems

After two years of concern and interventions by the Smith family, Jaden Smith was finally able to tell on Facebook Watch's Red Table Talk that he is in a better place when it comes to his weight. During this time the artist gained ten pounds, which he had to raise due to his poor eating habits. Fortunately, he seems to have everything under control.

"I was able to work with the doctors and really get my vitamins and my supplements and protein shakes. That's half of my diet. It's like a password I have to find for my body. I'm like 10 pounds heavier now at this point," Jaden Smith said of his renewed relationship with food. After observing his lack of food, the Smith family decided to intervene.

The young man pointed out that his health has suffered a great improvement, since he has not only gained weight but also managed to gain muscle. Jaden Smith also shared a photo of his improved physique and noted the stark contrast of his current body shape with the shape he had in 2019, which, according to the actor, can be compared when he attended that year's Coachella festival.

"This is a far cry from how I was when I was at Coachella, where I was like, skin and bones. I thought it was so tight. I thought, 'This. I'm bragging about this. It's like I have to take my shirt off right now,'" Jaden Smith said. The memory made his mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, say, "Well, you were just trying to figure it out."

Jaden Smith also admitted that eating pancakes for breakfast every day for virtually her 23 years of life didn't help his "gut" problem. "My biggest gut problem would be not being hungry when I need it. Or being stressed. I'm in pain too. Like I ate so much sugar that I have a buildup of candida in my stomach," he said.

Jaden tried magic mushrooms with his mother

He also brought a taboo subject to the table. He and his mother shared the health benefits that psychedelic drug use can bring to health, which, according to Will Smith's wife, "help you feel better, but also solve the problems of how you got there in the first place."

Although psychedelic drugs used to be seen as a dangerous and clandestine substance, plant medicine has gradually become a highly sought-after treatment in the mental health scheme. For Jada Smith's mother, these types of drugs mean unpleasant memories about her ex-partner. "I just know he experimented a lot with psychedelics and that led him down the path of other drugs that led to his addiction," he said.

For his part, his son Jaden Smith explained that recent studies considered mushrooms as one of the most significant advances in the treatment of depression, since more traditional antidepressants were inspired by the use of psychedelics. The young man said that he began to use them out of curiosity, and that even these led him to understand what the ego was "for the first time".

"That was the moment that really changed me. You get to a place where you're blocked by something, whether it's trauma or your emotions or your ego, without being able to express yourself. Psychedelics are a way to break down that wall and see what lies beyond. Doing it guided with people who are professionals really increases the chances of having that mystical experience," Jaden Smith shared.
