Juliette Binoche rejected Spielberg three times

Juliette Binoche has revealed that she had to refuse to work with the famous director Steven Spielberg on three separate occasions. The actress told Variety that she turned down roles in "Jurassic Park," "Schindler's List" and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" due to scheduling issues.

I don't remember well, but Steven reminded me. The first time was for "Indiana Jones 3" because I did "The Lovers On The Bridge" with Leos Carax. The second time, for "Schindler's List", I was pregnant, and then I was already committed to the film "Three Colors: Blue"”, revealed the actress and added:

It would be fun to do "Jurassic Park" to see how Spielberg makes a movie, but at the same time, he is more of a male director, like Scorsese” - the actress stated, reports NME.

The actress will soon be seen in the film "The Return" by the famous Italian director Uberto Pasolini, in which she will play with Ralph Fiennes for the third time.

Juliette Binoche is often called one of the best actresses in the world. The most recent confirmation came from Berlin, where at the end of 2019 she was awarded the most important recognition of the seventh art of the Old Continent - the award of the European Film Academy for European film contribution to the world framework.

Binoche's respectable career dates back to 1988 when she starred in ‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being’, a film that brought her international fame, and co-starred with Daniel Day-Lewis. In 1992, she played a role in ‘Damage’ with Jeremy Irons. She also had notable appearances in the films ‘Chocolat’ with Johnny Depp, ‘Bee Season’ with Richard Gere, and ‘Breaking and Entering‘ with Jude Law.

Juliette is not only an actress, she is also a painter - she has also designed several promotional posters for her films, she writes songs, and dances. And while other actresses her age are getting less and less roles, the opposite is the case with Binoche.
