Linda Evangelista's sad confession: "I was left deformed by cosmetic procedure"
She says that her face has been "brutally disfigured" due to an adverse reaction to fat-freezing procedure
Model Linda Evangelista along with Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, and Tatiana Patitz made up the famous quintet that ruled the catwalks of world-famous designers during the 1990s.
But in the last few years, there has been a drastic change in the appearance of the famous Linda Evangelista, and she has appeared less and less in public. Now, for the first time in five years of agony, she spoke openly of her appearance.

On her Instagram profile, Evangelista shared a heartbreaking story about what actually happened to her once-perfect face. Namely, she had a cosmetic procedure involving fat-freezing that should have reduced the amount of fat in her face, but it did just the opposite.
She said that the procedure increased fat cells, instead of reducing them and “left me permanently deformed even after undergoing two painful, unsuccessful, corrective surgeries. I have been left, as the media has described, ‘unrecognizable,'” she said, adding "I have developed Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH), a risk of which I was not made aware before I had the procedures."
The famous model said that PAH "destroyed her livelihood" and sent her to "a cycle of deep depression, profound sadness and the lowest depths of self-loathing." She said that she became "a recluse" in the process and that it is time for her to clear her name and walk out of the house with her "head held high".

Her confession saddened fans and followers on social media, and her famous colleagues immediately sent their support.
“You are and always will be a supermodel, now adding super role model of courage to your glorious resume. I love you.” stylist Karla Welch wrote.
"I have always recognized you as someone who was physically beautiful, yes, but more importantly, you really shone bright from within. It has been your sense of humor, your innate joy, and your ability to present so effortlessly the best in life that I’ve always been the most attracted to. In your darkest moments may you never forget the light you have sparked in so many, and continue to", posted designer Brandon Maxwell.
Among the celebrities who sent their support on social media are Karen Elson, Jeremy Scott, Gwyneth Paltrow, and many others.
