Madonna's daughter's shocking confession: My mother is a freak, she has controlled me all my life
Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon claims that her mother is a "control freak", who controlled her "all her life". The eldest daughter of the pop icon talked about her upbringing for "Interview Magazine" with her mother's longtime friend, actress Debi Mazar.
"My mom is such a control freak, and she has controlled me my whole life," said the 25-year-old Lourdes Leon.
"I needed to be completely independent from her as soon as I graduated high school," Lourdes added. She said she gained a sense of independence by paying for college and an apartment. Through the interview, she also looked back on her upbringing.
"But I think my mom saw all these other kids of famous people, and she was like, 'My kids are not going to be like this," Lourdes explained Madonna's philosophy of upbringing.

Lourdes Leon said that her mother encouraged her to "grow" in her modeling career, but also in general.
"My mother strongly insists that I think about what I want to be known for and that it's not just my appearance. I don't want people to remember me just for that, either," she said.
Lourdes believes that modeling is a smart decision, as far as the financial aspect is concerned.
"I enjoy the campaigns I do and in which I actually participate and have an impact, so I'm not just a model," said Lourdes Leon. She says she is also interested in dance, fashion, and aesthetics, but is hesitant about her acting career.
"I still don't know what I think about acting," she said, adding that the actors are very nervous about her and she can't be near them.

She also said that, although she knows how to sing, she is not interested in a job that has to do with music.
"I just don't care about it," she said, adding that she may have been too much surrounded by it while growing up. Lourdes also praised her mother’s musical talent, saying she understood how influential and amazing Madonna was, and how she empowered other women and was always ahead of her time.
"I didn't fully understand that until I understood the importance of empowerment and what it means to be a woman. She's probably the hardest worker I've ever seen. II inherited her control issues, but not her work ethic," concluded Madonna's eldest daughter.
