Netflix - Documentary on the Qatar 2022 World Cup
Netflix to release a documentary on the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The platform confirmed it in a package of sports documentaries.
An untitled FIFA World Cup docu-series was revealed for mid-2023. Following the success of its first co-production, Captains, which followed the players during the qualifying stage for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Netflix, and FIFA+ are teaming up once more to bring a new series that goes behind the scenes during the tournament.
The film, which is being promoted by Fulwell 73, will be the ultimate narrative of one of the greatest sporting events in history. The World Cup will be presented to viewers as they've never seen it before, with privileged behind-the-scenes access and exclusive footage from the 32 competing teams. It will make its global debut on the platform in 2023.
The most important event in men's football came to a close with the match between Argentina and France, with the squad led by Lionel Messi winning. The match's outcome was determined in the round of penalties, in which Gonzalo Montiel scored the game-winning point, making South America a global champion for the third time. In turn, goalkeeper Emiliano Dibu Martnez was crucial in the closing minutes.
The match was followed by a worldwide broadcast, which kept millions of people glued to their television screens. All of these occurrences, as well as those behind the scenes of the matches in Qatar, will be revealed in the docuseries that the "Netflix" giant has enlisted. What tense moments were missed by the public? How did all of the preparations for such a large event come together? Is it possible to put into words how it felt to see Messi carry the cup?
For the time being, there is no information on who is in charge of guiding the project or whether suggestions from soccer experts would be incorporated. According to the photographs released by Netflix, the production company Fulwell 73 captured each stage of Qatar 2022 live and direct, beginning with the group stage and ending with Argentina's victory against France.
There is also no formal release date for this docuseries, however, it will be available this year. In the meantime, you can watch Sean Eternos: Campeones de América, a documentary series on the Argentine National Team in the 2021 Copa América, on Netflix.
