The trailer for the documentary about Michael Jackson's album "Thriller" has been released!
Audiences around the world will have the opportunity to watch the documentary film "Thriller 40", about Michael Jackson's famous album "Thriller". It will premiere on December 2 on the "Paramount Plus" platform.
Forty years after the release of Michael Jackson's Thriller, the world's best-selling album of all time, director Nelson George takes fans back in time to experience the making of the record-breaking album. With never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews, "Thriller 40" chronicles the creation of a pre-Internet global phenomenon unlike anything before or since.
The album "Thriller" launched Michael Jackson into mega-stardom and to this day continues to influence all aspects of culture and entertainment, including the worlds of music, dance and fashion. The documentary features Usher, Mary J. Blige, and Will. I. Am, Mark Ronson, Misty Copeland, Maxwell and John Landis.
"The release of Thriller redefined Michael Jackson, elevating him from a teenage star to an adult superstar who composed memorable songs. He was extremely talented and he reached the highest level of stage performance," said Nelson George. "The album and the short films it inspired created a new template for merging music and image. It was a privilege to explore this remarkable album and look back at its magic.” Nelson added.
Thriller was Jackson's second studio album as a solo artist for Epic Records. It earned a record 12 Grammy® nominations and a magnificent eight wins, including Album of the Year. And also, Michael won a record eight Grammys on the same night, including for ET Album The Storybook. Since its debut, Thriller has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and it was the first album to be certified triple diamond by the RIAA.
Recall, in July last year, Michael Jackson's nephew TJ Jackson claimed that a film about his uncle would happen, saying the biopic was necessary to reframe the 'horrific' child abuse allegations made against Jackson.
