Only on Netflix: "The Witcher: Blood Origin" series

The new series "The Witcher: Blood Origin" is coming to Netflix at the end of this month. In order to further introduce and connect this spin-off prequel to the original "The Witcher", Netflix released a new, longest, and most detailed trailer so far.

The new trailer was released during the CCXP event, where we also saw numerous other trailers from the Star Wars and Marvel franchises. It lasts almost two and a half minutes and contains numerous scenes that have not been shown before, which also reveal several new details related to the story of this prequel. This story takes place 1200 years before the saga of Geralt of Rivia.

As we mentioned previously, this is a prequel to the popular series "The Witcher", which has only four episodes. The directors are Sarah O'Gorman (Cursed) and Vicky Jewson (Born of War). The executive producer and showrunner of the series is Declan de Barra, while Andrzej Sapkowski had the role of creative consultant. Other executive producers include Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, Tomasz Bagiński, Jarosław Sawko and Matt O'Toole.

The story of the series is about Scían, the last member of a nomadic tribe of warrior elves. No one can even come close to her skill with a blade and no one carries as much loss in their heart as she does. When she is presented with the opportunity to return a stolen holy sword, taken from her fallen tribe, she embarks on a deadly quest that will change the outcome of the continent. Blood Origin is set 1,200 years before the events of the original series and takes place in an elven world. 

Michelle Yeoh is starring as Scían, Sophia Brown as Éile, Laurence O'Fuarain as Fjall, Minnie Driver as Seanchaí, Mirren Mack as Merwyn, Lenny Henry as Balor, Jacob Collins-Levy as Eredin, Lizzie Annis as Zacaré, Huw Novelli as Callan “Brother Death”, Francesca Mills as Meldof, Amy Murray as Fenrik, Nathaniel Curtis as Brían, Zach Wyatt as Syndril, Dylan Moran as Uthrok One-Nut and Joey Batey as Jaskier.
