Prince Harry says it's good for people to quit if their job is bad

Last March Prince Harry, who is no longer a member of the royal family, found a new job at technology startup BetterUp and has now given an interview to Fast Company about his new job.

The Duke of Sussex has joined San Francisco-based BetterUp, which provides mental health services for employees of certain companies and individuals, and is currently valued at $ 4.7 billion.

When I started working at BetterUp, there were some key areas I focused on: fostering and advocating for awareness of mental fitness, leading BetterUp’s social mission, influencing the community and member experiences, and expanding BetterUp’s global community of coaches, clients, and members through strategic planning, ”Harry said, adding that he wants to point out the importance of mental health and how to help others reach their peak which then positively impacts the whole world.

While on the surface it seems like all these issues have come to the fore in the last few years, the reality is that these struggles and problems have been brewing for some time. We are just beginning to awaken mental health awareness. They are finally paying attention, and a big part of this mission is to build awareness and continue to talk about mental health, ”he added.

He believes that resignation is not necessarily bad

"Many of the layoffs mentioned are not so bad. It is a sign that with self-awareness comes the need for change. A lot of people around the world are trapped in jobs that don't make them happy, but now they have decided to put their happiness and mental health first. It's something we should celebrate," Harry said.

He also revealed that he wants to use his position in the company to help war veterans.

We will work with soldiers, veterans, and their families. I can't share the details yet, but we will work with a number of governments and non-profit organizations and offer resources for military personnel who have trouble determining their mental health problems. We will help them build good system support so that they can face new challenges and build resilience and reach their full potential equally during active military service and after the transition to civilian life, ”he concluded.
