A military method that will put you to sleep
When nothing helps: A military method that will put you to sleep in just two minutes. It should be practiced daily, the results are seen after six weeks
We all sometimes find ourselves in a situation where we can’t fall asleep, and we are so exhausted that we would give anything just to fall asleep. The good news is that there is a method that even somnologists claim could work and help us fall asleep in less than two minutes.
Its effectiveness was developed and tested in the U.S. military, to solve the problem of overtired and exhausted soldiers, hence the name. The method helps us to fall asleep quickly no matter where we are, and when we wake up, we feel rested and full of energy.
It should be practiced daily, the results are seen after six weeks, and it reportedly works in 96 percent of those who try it. It is explained in detail back in 1981 in Lloyd Budd Winter's book "Relax and Win: Championship Performance" and is actually a variation of Progressive Muscle Relaxation, which emphasizes helping to relieve muscle tension and relax the body which in turn helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system.
And Dr. Jess Andrade, a popular doctor, and Youtuber who shares advice on the popular TikTok, where she is followed by 1.4 million people, also says it is an effective method studied in situations of insomnia or anxiety and easy to try. It costs nothing - so why not give it a try?
How does the method work?
1. Relax the entire face, including all muscles and tongue, from the jaw to the inside of the mouth. It is easier if you tense all the muscles first and then relax them.
2. Lower your shoulders to release any tension and let your arms fall relaxed from the side of your body.
3. Exhale, relax your chest and focus on your breath. Feel your legs, thighs, and hips relax.
4. Cleanse your mind for ten seconds, imagining a relaxing scene. If that doesn’t work, try saying the words “don’t think” over and over for 10 seconds.
5. You should fall asleep within ten seconds, but initially, when you have just started exercising, it may take up to two minutes.
You need to try and be patient for a few weeks.
