Princess Charlene's father spoke about her!

Charlene is the Princess of Monaco and a former Olympic swimmer. Her husband, Albert II, is the reigning Prince of Monaco and head of the Princely House of Grimaldi.

In May 2021, while on a trip to raise awareness about the issue of rhinoceros poaching in Southern Africa, Charlene caught an infection that affected her nose, throat, and ears. She had a sinus lift and bone grafting procedure earlier. The condition led to problems with equalizing pressure and prevented her from flying above 20,000 feet. Because of that, she missed a prescheduled appearance at the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix, as she was unable to travel back to Monaco. After multiple procedures, Princess Charlene was medically advised to remain in South Africa, away from her family.

Recovery

After spending several months in her native South Africa where she underwent multiple surgeries due to an ear, throat, and nose infection, Princess Charlene is currently recovering in a Swiss clinic. She visited Monaco but for a short stay. The 43-year-old royal and former Olympic swimmer has been living in South Africa since mid-May and her husband Albert, 63, just returned from a trip to visit her.

The public does not stop speculating about her health, so her father Mike Wittstock decided to break the silence and speak publicly on the subject for the first time.

The father of the Monegasque princess revealed that he failed to see his daughter during her stay in South Africa due to the pandemic.

‘I didn’t want to risk and infect her because she had so many medical interventions. She is very sensitive, 'he said, adding that he firmly believes in her complete recovery.

Mike and his wife Lynette Wittstock with Charlene, as well as their grandchildren, try to make regular phone calls.

'My daughter swam 20 kilometers a day. I know how strong she is and that she will be able to recover and return much stronger, 'said the father of the Monegasque princess.
