Selma Hayek Shares Support For Will Smith

The Frida actress has been nominated for an Academy Award.

After a fantastic night at the Academy Awards, Salma Hayek headed to social media on Monday to offer her support for her friends and co-stars.

She congratulated Will Smith and Samuel L. Jackson on their awards, with Will winning Best Actor and Samuel receiving an Honorary Governor's Award from the Academy.

She congratulated Will and Sam on their happy night with vintage photos of herself alongside them, writing: "Last night, two of my favorite costars received Academy Awards. Congratulations on a job well done. @samuelljackson @willsmith"

The House of Gucci star also shared photos of directors Jane Campion and Chloe Zhao, who'd won Best Director Oscars back-to-back, and praised them for standing out for female directors in the business.

"In addition, two women have received Best Director for the past two years. @janecampion @chloezhao, congratulations! "she came to a conclusion

Many fans congratulated the cast and praised Will for his performance in the comments area, while others expressed their dissatisfaction with his Oscars performance.

Will featured opposite Kevin Kline and Kenneth Branagh in 1999's Wild Wild West, in which he portrayed a US Secret Service Agent in the old west.

The outpouring of solidarity occurred after the actor smacked Chris Rock during the Oscars ceremony on Sunday night after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

Following his Oscar win for King Richard, he used his acceptance speech to talk about safeguarding his family while hinting to the matter, finally addressing it directly, stating he was "embarrassed."

He even cried as he apologized to the Academy, hoping they would "welcome me back," and many celebrities were split on the issue.

Will Smith apologized to Chris Rock after slapping him at the 2022 Oscars on Sunday night.

Recall, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to Variety that Chris Rock refused to file a police report after the scandal with Will Smith at the 94th Academy Awards.

A statement from the Los Angeles Police Department said: ‘LAPD investigators are aware of an incident between two people during the Oscars. In the incident, one person slapped another. The person that is involved refused to file a police report. If the party involved wants a police report later, the LAPD will be available to complete the investigation report.
