SF series "Beacon 23" is coming soon!

MGM Plus released the first official trailer and poster for the SF series "Beacon 23", based on the novel of the same name by Hugh Howey. The series was initially developed for Spectrum Original as part of an attempt to attract subscribers, but that division was shut down last year and its projects sold off. So the series was ultimately taken over by the MGM Plus platform, which recently announced that the premiere is expected in November.

Set in the farthest reaches of the Milky Way, it follows Aster, a government agent, and Halan, an ex-soldier, whose fates become intertwined after they find themselves trapped inside one of the many beacons that serve as beacons for intergalactic travelers. Each of these lighthouses is run by a 'highly trained' human and specialized artificial intelligence. Aster mysteriously finds her way to the lonely lighthouse keeper Halan and a tense psychological battle of wills takes place between them. Halan begins to question whether Aster is a friend or foe, as her ability to conceal her agenda and motives could make her a vicious adversary.

The creator of the series is Zak Penn (Ready Player One), while the showrunners and executive producers are Penn and Glen Mazzara (The Walking Dead). Other executive producers are David Fortier, Ivan Schneeberg, James Middleton, Nick Nantell, Tina Thor, Katie O'Connell Marsh, Elisa Ellis, Liz Varner, Ira Steven Behr, Daniel Percival, Joy Blake, Lena Headey and Stephan James.

The main roles of Aster and Halan are played by Lena Headey and Stephan James, while the other roles include Stephen Root (Barry), Natasha Mumba (Y: The Last Man), Bo Martynowska (Nancy Drew) and Wade Bogert-O'Brien (Anne with no).

"Beacon 23" premieres on MGM Plus on November 12, with the first two episodes out of a total of eight.
