Sharon Osbourne spoke openly about her marriage to Black Sabbath heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne , which has lasted for nearly 40 years.
"Our quarrels were legendary. We fought like crazy. That stopped about 20 years ago, but we knew how to quarrel well," Sharon revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail.
She married the Black Sabbath star back in 1982, and they met in 1970 when Sharon was 18 years old. Prior to his relationship with Sharon, Ozzy was married to Thelma Riley. The couple launched their reality show "The Osbournes" in 2002, which aired until 2005.
The famous couple was always open when it came to talking about their turbulent past, and they documented this in a biographical film. Sharon Osbourne argues that the film is first and foremost a “love story".
"It's a film about Ozzy's and my life, about how we dated and it generally talks about our unstable relationship. All the fights, reconciliations, again fights, arrests, whatever. And it's a love story. But we're just telling the truth. Some people have unstable relationships, and ours was very unstable, "Sharon revealed, writes US magazine.
In the documentary, the couple also recalled an incident in 1989, when Ozzy tried to strangle his wife while under the influence of drugs.
"I didn't know who was sitting across from me on the sofa, but it wasn't my husband. He used to have those phases of his where his eyes would get weird, his eyelids would drop and you just couldn't reach him," she revealed.
